The Refuge

"I want you to build a church."

"By faith, Noah being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, took heed and constructed an ark for the saving of his household; by this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which comes by faith." Hebrews 11:7

Jehovah Jireh - The Lord Will Provide

You are not your own. You are the Lord's, and He will call upon His children to fulfill the purpose He has for them according to His will. The Lord told Jeremy, "I want you to build a church." He told us He would provide the means to do this, He gave Jeremy the image of the structure we are to build and that it will be "wood and stone." He showed Carrie the inside and layout of the refuge, including the lampstands and watch tower facing the East that are to be included. He told us what the purpose was for the refuge, and who would be inside of it. We believe what He said, and we will obey Him. He said it would be "blessed from beginning to end", and so it shall be.

"For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and return not thither but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:10-11

Vision of the Refuge

Since the completion of our book, 'The Call,' the Lord placed it on Carrie's heart to write a book called, 'The Purpose of a Life.'  The Lord transformed Carrie's heart from that which was not merciful towards the woman that chose abortion to become merciful to the repentant woman in her individual situation, knowing that some women were forced or manipulated to carry out this act. The book is intended to be read in one sitting prior to the woman's decision to abort their child and is meant to compel them to choose life, not to condemn them. It is a short read, that draws scripture out and places it in front of the woman to see that God alone determines the purpose of a life. (The Purpose of a Life will be released soon from Trilogy Publishers a branch of TBN.)

"God used a vessel like me that had no mercy for women who choose abortion to write a book so He could show His mercy. It's not about how I feel, it's about being a willing vessel to an Almighty God. When we are not merciful, He is merciful. When we are obedient, His grace washes over us and we can partake in His mercy." - Carrie

How lovely it would be if the refuge was a place that pregnant woman could go if they were turned out of their homes because they were with child. We could bless them with food, shelter, and clothing and help them find jobs after the baby was born or connect them to couples looking to adopt a child while the birth mother recovers. We could teach them that there is a loving Father in heaven that accepts them even when others may judge them. A Holy place that lays hands on the mother and prays for her and her child, dedicating this child to the Lord before it is born, and guides the mother to Jesus while surrounded by His disciples. This is my hope, a dream planted in my heart for these women. I do not know why God showed Jeremy the pregnant woman in the refuge, and God will do His will with the church He called him to build. If this world can fund so many places to end the life of a child, can't God create places to give them life? "Perhaps you were born for such a time as this." Esther 4:14

"Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her." And once more he bent down and wrote with His finger on the ground. John 8:7-8

The Refuge given by the Spirit

This is the original sketch that Carrie had drawn of what the Spirit showed her the inside of the refuge should look like.

The Refuge given by the Spirit

Jeremy's rendition of the refuge from Carrie's sketch including the measurements he was given during prayer. He discusses the wisdom the Spirit gave him to get the dimensions in their podcast episode, "God's Wisdom." The Lord said, "Trust Me."

"We are witnesses to these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him." Acts 5:32

"For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable."  Romans 11:29

Regarding the building of the house of God to Zerubbabel. This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: "You will succeed, not by military might or by your own strength, but by my Spirit. Obstacles as great as mountains will disappear before you. You will rebuild the Temple, and as you put the last stone in place, the people will shout, 'Beautiful, beautiful!'" Zechariah 4:6-7

The Refuge Site

Another message came to me from the Lord. He said, "Zerubbabel has laid the foundation of the Temple, and he will finish the building. When it happens, my people will know that it is I who sent you to them. They are disappointed because so little progress is being made. But they will see Zerubbabel continuing to build the Temple, and they will be glad." Zechariah 4:8-10

Direction from The Lord

Carrie told Jeremy that they were to place a light in front of the cross on the refuge site, then speak life into the building up of the refuge. The Lord spoke all of creation into existence. To speak life into the building of the refuge is an act of obedience to the call He made upon Jeremy. The Lord directed Ezekiel to speak into the valley of dry bones, and they came to life. When we speak life into something, we are prophesying into that thing, that it will take place and that it will come to life in the name of Jesus. As the Lord said to Zerubbabel, this will take place by His Spirit, not by our own awesomeness shall we attain the refuge, but only by the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord will the refuge be built. We are to obey every command He makes upon us as we follow Him in the building of the refuge. He guides our hands and directs our steps. No part of the building of the refuge will be without the Lord's direction.

"Your word is a lamp for my feet, and a light to my path." Psalm 119:105

The Cross on the Refuge Site
Jesus is our cornerstone

This cornerstone that Jeremy placed in the location directed by the Lord was where a wooden stake marked the front right corner of the refuge site. The wooden stake was removed, and many stones were placed underground supporting this top cornerstone.

The Lords Direction

"So then, anyone who hears these words of mine and obeys them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, and the wind blew hard against that house. But it did not fall, because it was built on the rock. But anyone who hears these words of mine and does not obey them is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain poured down, the rivers flooded over, the wind blew hard against that house, and it fell. And what a terrible fall that was!" Matthew 7:24-26

"So then, you Gentiles are not foreigners or strangers any longer; you are now fellow citizens with God's people and members of the family of God. You, too, are built upon the foundation laid by the apostles and prophets, the cornerstone being Christ Jesus himself. He is the one who holds the whole building together and makes it grow into a sacred temple dedicated to the Lord. In union with Him you too are being built together with all the others into a place where God lives through His Spirit." Ephesians 2:19-22
